More about us at the bottom of this page, but I'm really excited to share this new information with you...

I've written a book for children and have recently had it published. I love telling stories to my grandchildren. This story is about a magic bubble and is titled Bubble's World, "Boats and Bullies." (You can order your copy in our gift shop.)The illustrations are digitally enhanced photos of my grandsons, Vincent and Ben. I'm planning to write a series of books as Bubble takes the boys on many adventures and teaches them thoughtful lessons about life, loving and caring.

Hi, I'm Julie
I was born in Africa. I have lived in Australia, England
and Florida
and have been living in Punxustawney for the last four years. I currently
operate Plantation
Getaway, a Bed and Breakfast located a mile or so outside of Punxsutawney in Western
Pennsylvania where I meet lots of wonderful people from all over
the world. I spent seven years of my childhood in Australia
and the rest of my youth in southern Africa, mostly Zambia.
Though we found it necessary to leave Africa
due to the political unrest, I will always have a great love for that
country. There is something very magical about it. Some of my most magical
memories are the smell in the air when the wind blows in after a heavy
rainstorm and the feeling I got when I rode a horse through the bush,
untouched by civilization. Those are the things I miss so much about it. However,
there is beauty in every place on this earth and I love living in Punxsutawney. I have
met wonderfully kind and loving people and I am lucky to have my four
children living with and near me. Although I am not rich in money, I
certainly consider myself rich in love, family and friendship.
I have always
enjoyed making things and creating weird and wonderful items so I couldn't be
doing anything better for my soul. I love antiques, walks in the bush (what
you call the woods), meditating, tea on the veranda and having my family
around me.
My friend Dede (center)
and my two daughters, Vanessa (left) and Carla (right), are very helpful
creating Phil Fashions. My mother has recently joined us from South Africa
and I've put her to the task of creating groundhog souvenirs as well, though
she hasn't fallen in love with the “little bugger” yet. I am excited to
create more and more new items for sale, so I'm glad to have friends who
share my enthusiasm. We get together often for tea and painting or assembly
of the item of the week. Come back often to see what new items we are
featuring in our on-line gift shop. Our intention is to make artistic and original
Groundhog souvenirs suitable for gifts and personal enjoyment, something you
can take home to capture the magic of Groundhog Day.
